Description
In the sunny Salento countryside, on the outskirts of the elegant town of Galatina, lies this magnificent property, which rises on a hill to enjoy privileged views over the green expanses of Italy's heel. The property has a large entrance leading to the long driveway, bordered on the left by agricultural fields and on the right by a well-kept olive grove. There are six private parking spaces in the courtyard. The swimming pool is a wonderful oasis, measuring 18 by 9 metres, with depths ranging from 1.2 to 3.0. The lawn forms a soft green carpet, interspersed with walking paths. Neat hedges provide movement and privacy, embellishing the remarkable pool. Here, in the shade of the relaxing gazebo, you can sip a good drink or read a good book. Sun loungers and armchairs are placed in the air of the solarium, to relax and stimulate melanin, giving you a natural, healthy tan. The absence of visual barriers between the villa and the pool means that the little ones can play in peace, under the watchful eye of their parents. The built-up area is also slim, but above all extremely liveable to guarantee a high level of comfort. There is a very spacious covered outdoor veranda running the length of the front façade. In this bright space, with an excellent view of the surrounding greenery, there are two tables, one round and the other very large, rectangular, seating around twenty people. During the construction of this noble residence, great attention was paid to optimising the space and independence of the rooms. Almost every room has direct access to the outside, as do the living room and kitchen. The living room includes a sitting area, a double sofa bed, a fireplace, a dining area (table and chairs) and a range of furniture. From here, a few steps lead down to the hallway to the first sleeping area, where you'll find 3 comfortable bedrooms (two with outside access) and 2 bathrooms. A third bathroom is located just off the corridor. The main core is completed by the large kitchen, equipped with all the accessories you'll need: hob, electric oven, microwave, dishwasher, coffee machine, kettle, toaster and much more. Two of the five bedrooms are not connected to the main building, but are adjacent to it. Both are comfortable and have outside access and a bathroom. The estate is completed by a beautiful guest house, comprising a studio with a wooden mezzanine with sleeping area (double bed), sitting area with double sofa bed, table and chairs, induction cooker and bathroom. The charming house, with its 6 bedrooms (a single bed can be added in one of them), living room with double sofa bed, kitchen and 6 bathrooms is a perfect investment.
Amenities : Air conditioning and flat-screen TV in every room; large TV in living room; dishwasher; washing machine; WiFi internet connection; kettle; toaster; microwave; plenty of parking; stone barbecue; orchard.
Private swimming pool 17.90 m x 9 m x 7 m.
Depth from 1.20 m to 3 m.
Whether or not you decide to stay here, Galatina is still one of the towns in Salento that we recommend you visit. If you are already here, you can enjoy its magnificent historic centre, with the famous Basilica of St Catherine of Alexandria. The region's culinary standards are very high, so it will be a pleasure to have lunch or dinner in one of the many restaurants/pizzerias/trattorie or agriturismi in the area. You'll also find all the services you need in town (banks, post office, insurance, shops, markets, newsagents, etc.). The sea is within easy reach. The nearest stretches of coastline are the Gallipoli beaches of Lido Conchiglie, Padula Bianca and Rivabella, the elegant Santa Maria al Bagno or the wild and beautiful Porto Selvaggio. To go out in the evening, you can either go to the city centre or to one of the beautiful neighbouring towns, such as Gallipoli or Lecce. In the former you can breathe in the space and traditions of the seafaring peoples of the Salento, while in the latter you can enjoy the Baroque art of Lecce, which has made the city one of the finest examples of this artistic movement. Lecce also offers a myriad of small, typical restaurants and craft workshops. There are many nearby villages to visit, not least Corigliano d'Otranto, with its imposing castle, now converted into a venue for social events. If you want to learn more about the region's culture, there are a number of museums to visit: Sigismondo in Castromediano and the magnificent MarTa in Taranto. Several marine protected areas and nature parks are within easy reach.
